ECP2 programme powered by euspen
Promoting technical education
aimed at the certification of precision engineers
euspen certified precision engineering course programme (ECP2) has been developed to meet the demands in the market for continuous professional development and training of engineers working within the fields of precision engineering and nanotechnology.
euspen has committed to assure that the level and content of short courses approved for inclusion of their ECP2 programme meets the demand of multidisciplinary system thinking.
When successfully completing the programme you will obtain a certificate.
This certificate is an industrial standard for professional recognition and acknowledgement of your Precision Engineering-related knowledge and skills and allows the use of the title euspen certified precision engineering course programme (ECP2) and you will be entered in the international Register of ECP2 Precision Engineers.
ECP2 promotes cooperative skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant disciplines:
- A range of short courses are available covering all aspects of precision engineering, divided into three competency levels, with a requirement for the scholar to gain points across a balanced training program
- Provides a structured approach to continuing professional development within precision engineering
- An industry recognised qualification promoting transnational portability of skill-set throughout Europe
- Investing in education to create a common way of thinking across Europe, reflecting the demand for multidisciplinary system thinking
- Creating a common way of working to facilitate networking for precision engineers
Certification Process
A range of short courses are available covering all aspects of
precision engineering, divided into three competency levels :-

Foundation (Basic)

Advanced (Deepening)

Specific (Focussed)
Our Education and Scientific Committees, with over 60 academic and commercial leading names within their field, have selected and audited the best post-academic training courses for precision engineers. Each course has been assessed for its content and quality and assigned a number of continuous professional development points which will be awarded to individuals completing each course. There is a requirement for the scholar to gain points across a balanced training program and a certificate will be issues at each of the below achievement levels:-
- By reaching 25 points you will receive a Bronze ECP2 certificate.
- By reaching 35 points you will receive a Silver ECP2 certificate.
- By reaching 45 points you become a ECP2 Certified Precision Engineer.
Focus areas are miniaturisation in the semi-conductor and MEMS technology, nanotechnology, applied manufacturing technologies; chemics and biomechanics. We develop your skills in precision of work, tribology, optomechatronics, metrology and control, material treatments, thermo-mechanics and dynamics, vacuum technology and contamination control.
The target group are Precision engineers with a bachelor or masters degree or with 2-10 years working experience within a related discipline.
